Happy Easter from the 1/2's

This week we have done some Easter activities. We made Easter baskets, Easter bunny cards and traced a giant egg. The grade 1’s coloured and counted shapes on a bunny and did a dot to dot. The grade 2’s had to work out addition problems and colour each section a different colour.

This Thursday we have an Easter bonnet parade with the Preps and 3/4’s. We have an assembly on Thursday afternoon. Some of us will sing a special song that we have learnt in music. It is also an early finish.

We hope you have a happy Easter and get lots of eggs! See you in a couple of weeks!

Love the 1/2’s

A visit from the CFA

Today we had a visit from the CFA, they taught us how to check the door at our house to see if there was a fire on the other side. This is a video of us crawling under a smoke blanket and practising checking for fire.

From the Grade 2's

On Wednesday the 12th we were measuring a metre using the length of our arms. We walked around the school and found things that were longer and shorter than our metre. Here are some pictures!

Here is Jane's groups howing your their metres!

Here is Rachel's Maths book recording all her findings!

This is Rainbow's picture of her metre!

1/2 says...

On Thursday the 28th of February a lady called Raelene came with a dog named Milo. She taught us lots of things like:
1. When you see an angry dog you stand still, put your hands in a fist by your side, be as quiet as a mouse then you put your head down to the ground. You wait for the angry dog to go away and then you walk quietly and slowly backwards. When you arrive safely to your destination you need to tell a trusted adult about the angry dog.
2. When dogs are sleeping you don’t pat it.
3. If you see a sad dog you leave it alone.
4. When dogs are eating you leave it alone
5. When dogs have puppies you leave them alone
6. When you are hugging your dog don’t hug him close to your face
7. You don’t touch a dog that has been tied up outside of a shop.
8. You always say PLEASE before you pat a stranger’s dog.
9. You need to let dogs smell your hand before you pat them and you always pat the dog the same way the dog’s hair runs. You don’t want to ruin a dog’s hairstyle.
10. Don’t jump over a fence if your ball goes over it, there might be a angry dog on the other side
Some dogs are trained to be guard dogs. These dogs wear a special collar and there is a special sign that warns us that there is a dangerous dog around.
11. Some people got to pat Milo to practise the things we learnt
12. We sang a special song to teach us all these rules.

We had a great day
